For William Barrow, two thousand years is a very long time...too long, when it is a perpetual punishment for betraying Jesus Christ. The man originally known as Judas Iscariot is on a mission to recover thirty silver shekels once paid to him for his ultimate treachery. Twenty-two coins have been recovered, leaving just eight to go. But when his Russian nemesis, Viktor Kaslow, also becomes immortal, the stakes are immediately raised.
Kaslow has followed William and his son, Alistair, to Hong Kong in search of a 'blood coin' passed down through Genghis Khan. The coin presently belongs to an esteemed Chinese collection. But along with the coin are other cursed items from the famed Mongol Emperor. William soon learns he can't have the 'one' without the others. William has waited eight hundred years for a second chance to reclaim this particular coin that inspired the Mongolian Empire's bloody violence it was once famous for.
While Kaslow closes in, seeking his own vengeance, William and Alistair race against the CIA and an unscrupulous American businessman intent on reaching the cursed 'treasure trove' before them. Much is at stake for the Barrows and the world, as a deadly weapon unseen for centuries lies in wait alongside blood coin number twenty-three....

This book was an amazing adventure!! I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one set the bar even higher. What really endears me to this story, is how the author can make a loathe-worthy character such as Judas Iscariot likable! I found myself relating to his plight intensely, wanting him to succeed in finding the coins so he could bring peace to his tortured soul. The relationship Judas (or William Barrow) shares with his son Allistair adds a lot of depth to the story line. It's so full of warmth but enough wrought with imperfection that it rings true. Then there's the beautiful love story that our main character shares with his wife Beatrice. There is one scene between them in the ending that literally had me crying it touched me so deeply. To me, there's a general theme of redemption in these books. Judas (William) seeking the coins to redeem himself to Jesus, trying to make amends to Allistair for missing so many years of his life, and waiting for Beatrice to release him from the guilt over abandoning her. I eagerly anticipate the next installment to the series, and can't wait to see what adventures will be in store for our immortal adventurer.Product details

Reign of Coins The Judas Chronicles Book Two Volume 2 Aiden James 9781479204014 Books Reviews
Great story line....very intriguing!
Wow!
The main character was interesting and thought provoking.
It was what caught my interest at first and I was drawn into the story.
I had to pay attention to the storyline because it was very complex and had a foreign flavor.....with foreign names, places and countries.
I did back track(read again) a few times when I got confused....which is a sign of a good book in my eyes. ) in other words you need to pay attention to what your reading ---this is NOT a fluff book!
I highly recommend this book!
The second book in the Judas Chronciles. It was entertaining to read. William/Judas is a loving husband and father. His hunt for each coin in the thirty pieces of silver keep him in peril. I hope you too like this book. Happy Reading.
Aiden James does it again in this second book of The Judas Chronicles. Once again it was very hard to put this book down. I wanted to find out what would happen next to William and his son Alister. Will William (Judas) Barrow find the next coin? He already has 22 of the 30 cursed coins he was paid to betray Jesus. These were found over the two thousand years in which Judas has been alive. Or will Viktor Kaslow the Russian who hates William finally kill him. You geat the feel of Indiana Jones and maybe a bit of Bond in the story as it is an great action adventure to be sure. You will not be disappointed in this book. I know I wasn't.
This author is amazing! Who would have thought of Judas as a fantasy character? I hesitated as I am Christian and couldn't believe this could be good. Aiden James is NOT disrespectful to biblical truth, he just sees it in a whole different point of view. I loved these books, not finished with them all yet, but will buy them all. Don't hesitate because you are Christian; if you love fantasy, this will really intrigue you. 0)
For William Barrow, two thousand years is a very long time...too long, when it is a perpetual punishment for betraying Jesus Christ. A well written book. Suggestion...read the 1st one in series before this one. I did not realize until I was a little ways in that it was the second book. My bad. If I had read it in order, some of the things that Judas referred to I would have understood better. Great editing, the words flow well without getting hung up on too much back story. The past was referenced at the right times and kept to a minimum. Likable and hateable characters as Will Barrows aka Judas and his son search for the 30 pieces of silver. There is not a religious feel to the book which I think is great for many people. Would recommend this one to anyone old enough to read and understand. Fun, adventurous. I did find William Barrows a bit of a snob, but hey, he's had 2000 years to perfect it. Enjoy.Reign of Coins (The Judas Chronicles #2)
This is the second novel of "The Judas Chronicles" and it definitely keeps your interest. You don't need to read the first book to enjoy this novel, the author provides enough flashbacks or descriptions to keep the reader from missing out on plot points from the first novel. The basic story is that Judas (Jesus' betrayer), is still alive and well and is trying to redeem himself by collecting the original thirty pieces of silver he was paid. This novel takes place in Hong Kong where one of the coins is being held by a family which also holds Genghis Khan's mythical war vest. Not to give too much away, this story involves Judas with several other immortal characters both good and evil along with some historical background on how Genghis Khan was able to conquer China. It is a quick read and is very enjoyable.
This is the second book in the Judas Chronicles and it carries on nicely from the first book.
The protagonist, William (Judas),and his son Alistair, continue the search the remaining coins Judas received from the Romans for betraying jesus, and earning forgiveness and hopefully ending his penance of wondering Earth as an immortal.
However, many know of his search and will do their best to stop him and that is where the author excels in his story telling. The relationship between the antagonists and William is skillfully described and well thoughtout. The action is believable and when there are some paranormal happenings, they almost seem real.
I will proudly say that Mr. James has hit another home run.
